
Sarah is a creative force residing at the intersection of storytelling, sacred music, education, and environmental activism. Her screenplays have earned major awards from competitions and festivals. Sarah's stage plays have been enjoyed by audiences from New York (off Broadway) to the Kennedy Center to stages across the South.
Her 2026 plans include developing her musical Yellow Rose (lyrics and music by Paul V. Gandolfi and Terry A. Langfitt) under the helm of commercial producer Hunter Regian of Regian Entertainment, the youngest Tony-award winning Broadway producer. His 2025 production credits include twelve shows on Broadway and the West End, including Evita, Gypsy, Sunset Boulevard, and Waiting for Godot. Look for an extended workshop with an experienced Broadway director and choreographer in early spring, followed by a regional Texas premiere. Long-term plans include an opening in London's West End.
She earned an MFA in Writing for Stage and Screen at the New Hampshire Institute of Art, and an MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas in conjunction with Chinese University in the New Territories of Hong Kong. Lawrence has taught business courses at UTDallas, Hong Kong University--where she designed a new MBA in Arts Administration--and the University of Iowa. She is also a popular retreat and seminar leader and writing coach.
As an active community leader in Pagosa Springs, she launched the Creation Care organization in 2020 to educate local citizens on how to become better environmental stewards. Last year, she helped organize a new local chapter of the League of Women Voters, and is also active in the Audubon Society, the Archuleta County Democrats, and the United Women in Faith.
